Horsham Chess Club, like many clubs and societies, holds many events during the course of the year. What they wanted on their website was a way to display these events in a calendar that was clear to read and easy to browse.
We were able to assist them in this by installing the Drupal Calendar on their site. This allowed events to be added, and then viewed by members on a month by month basis.
We have just finished adding OneLife iD‘s latest product, the MiniTag, to their website. The MiniTag is a PVC card that can be split into three identical tags. There are over 15 colours and patterns and 10 standard labels, along with the ability to add up to 4 lines of text to the back of each tag.
We created the page used to build the customer’s custom card design, and also adapted the rest of the site to handle orders of the MiniTag alongside the existing products. We also worked on integrating the system with the card printing software, as with the OneLife iD card.
We previously assisted Windmill Computing in developing a card encoding application that worked with the Dai Nippon CX-330. As part of an integrated card printing and encoding process, the application moved the card to the coupler at the appropriate point, then performed the encoding using the attached card writer.
Following the customer’s decision to upgrade printer and use a different model of card encoder, we had to modify the application to work with the new hardware. We added support for the Zebra ZXP Series 8 Printer (working via the ZMotif interface), while we were able to use the standard SCard interface to encode the MIFARE cards.
Recently we have been working with OneLife iD to revamp the home page of their website and the general layout of the pages.
The home page now incorporates a couple of animated elements advertising their product:
- A large slide show in the main content section, which displays examples of how the OneLife iD products can be used
- A small slide show of testimonials from happy customers
The home page and general layout have a number of roll-over images; the former are below the large slide show, while the latter are to be found in the standard page header.
The user navigation has been reorganised to make it simpler:
- The button used to access emergency details is now in the main menu bar to the left
- The sign in/sign out buttons are in the menu menu bar to the right
- The links to the various OneLife iD social media sites are now via icons at the top left
- The link to the shopping basket is on its own below these icons
We have also added the facility on the public profile to share it with other users on Facebook, Twitter and via e-mail.
